Lightning Strikes - Motorhome/RV/Truck/Travel Trailer/Boat
Motorhome/RV-Truck and travel trailer lightning damage is usually caused from a secondary transfer such as electrical wiring coming from the direct source of the strike. Trees within close proximity to the Motorhome/RV or travel trailer can transfer the high voltage through its root system to where it will enter tie downs or underground power and proceed inward of the Motorhome/RV.
Boats are particularly receptive to lightning especially if they are in open water. Lightning usually seeks out the highest object, and with sailboats having a high mast, sailboat lightning strikes are common.
